Aggressive styling, loads of performance and renowned Honda reliability all combine to give the TRX400X near-legendary status among the ranks of sport ATVs. Its bulletproof 397cc RFVC (Radial Four-Valve Combustion Chamber) engine has earned its place as one of the all-time great engines by offering both power and durability in spades. Yet sophisticated features such as a five-speed transmission plus Reverse and electric starting bolster the fun part of the equation as well. All in all, the TRX400X delivers all the goods for those in search of a performance-packed ATV that also includes Honda's famed excellence of design.

2013 Honda TRX400X Features and Benefits
Power you can count on.
The TRX400X’s engine uses a proven, high-performance/low-maintenance Radical Four-Valve Combustion Chamber (RFVC) design. It gives you plenty of power, but is also strong enough to stand many seasons’ worth of ATV riding.
Plush Performance.
Long-travel suspension front and rear means the TRX400X can handle the big bumps and whoops, stays hooked up, and doesn’t beat you up in the process.
Triple Disc Brakes - Featuring excellent stopping power and superior feel and feedback, these triple disc brakes (two front, one rear) also run cool. An aluminum rear caliper stay also helps shave weight.
High-Performance 397cc Engine - Bulletproof Radial Four-Valve Combustion Chamber (RFVC), ensures maximum combustion efficiency and horsepower. Camshaft timing developed specifically to meet ATV requirements for torque and useable horsepower.
Skidplate Protection - High-impact plastic skidplates protect engine cases, rear-brake disc and drive sprockets from the trials of the trails. It’s all part of Honda’s attention to detail and why your TRX400X is designed to be trouble-free.
Counterbalancer - Some other big singles beat you up with vibration and buzz, but not the TRX400X. A gear-driven counterbalancer minimizes engine vibration for smooth operation.
Snorkel-type Airbox - If you sometimes ride in less-than-ideal conditions, you’ll appreciate the TRX400X’s snorkel-type airbox. Designed to help your engine avoid contamination from water and dirt, you’ll keep going while your buddies are stuck.
Cast-Aluminum Swingarm - One-piece cast-aluminum swingarm is a specially designed piece that optimizes strength, rigidity and durability, but that is still light and which helps reduce unsprung weight.
Competition-Spec Suspension and Chassis - ro-Link® rear suspension features a one-piece cast-aluminum swingarm and fully adjustable large-diameter aluminum-body piggyback Showa® shock delivering 9.1 inches of travel. Triple disc brakes feature superb stopping power and a weight-saving aluminum rear caliper stay.
Reverse - Easy to use reverse for unloading or getting out of tight spots.
Heavy-Duty Clutch - Not just a motorcycle clutch in an ATV engine, the TRX400X’s heavy-duty clutch has 2mm-thick plates that are specially designed to stand up to sport-ATV demands.
Electric Starter - Effortless electric starter makes getting the engine started easy. Even when the engine is cold or at high altitude, all you need to do is push a button.
Important Safety Information - For highly experienced riders only; no operator under age 16. Honda recommends that all ATV riders take a training course and read their owner's manual thoroughly.
