OPTIMIZED CLUTCH
The clutch was designed to combine stout reliability with perfect functionality. An optimized oil sump ensures optimal lubrication and cooling, which also significantly increases the durability of the linings.
ADJSUTABLE HANDLEBAR
The adjustable brake lever and hydraulic clutch are mounted to the specially designed tapered aluminum Magura handlebar with four-position adjustability. The steering stem has been lengthened by 10mm for ideal motocross ergonomics. The chassis has an industry-exclusive mount for the steering damper, which is available as a PowerPart accessory.
THE PERFECT TANK
The fuel tank has a sleek, innovative design that ensures a low center of gravity and the best conceivable race ergonomics – and the result provides the rider with additional stability and increased cornering speed. The tank has a filling capacity of 2.7 gallons (10.3 L) and features only an on/off petcock.
DURABLE A-ARMS AND AXEL
For the extreme demands of motocross and desert, the high-strength camber and caster adjustable chromoly A-arms have been widened by 1.25 inches (32mm) per side from the XC models. The A-arms are mounted with a high grade needle-roller bearing top and ball joints bottom - requires no servicing and easy to exchange. The wider tapered chromoly steel axel can be adjusted from 47 to 50 inches (1,193 to 1,265mm).
FULLY ADJUSTABLE WP REAR SUSPENSION
All KTM SX ATV’s are fitted with fully adjustable state of the art WP suspension. The front and rear shocks have industry-exclusive dual crossover adjustment as well as high and low speed compression stroke adjustment that guarantees orange supremacy even on the most extreme tracks.

FRONT-AXLE CAMBER AND CASTER, REAR-AXLE TRACK, SUSPENSION COMPONENTS
Camber and caster on the front axle of the 505 SX are just as variable as the track on the rear. Not only the spring preload plus compression and rebound damping are adjustable on the shock absorbers, they also feature separate high-speed and low-speed settings for the compression stage.
BRAKES
Tough MX race use demands top-quality brakes. At the front of the 505 SX, four-piston fixed-caliper brakes from Magura, unique in the ATV world, bite hard into two huge wave discs. Braided steel brake lines all round also come as standard.
