2011 Yamaha Grizzly 550 FI 4x4 EPS Special Edition

Featuring a 558cc fuel-injected 4-stroke engine, Yamaha's EPS, Ultramatic Transmission, On-Command 4WD, 4-disk brakes and Yamaha's unbeatable reliability and durability.

Meet the Grizzly 550. Its powerful 558cc, 4-stroke engine with fuel injection delivers plenty of power, and makes cold starting a breeze.

The long-travel four-wheel independent suspension serves up awesome ground clearance to get up over and around the gnarliest terrain. While the bush button On-Command system will have you in complete control, simply select the 2WD, limited-slip 4WD or Diff-Lock 4WD to suit the terrain. Yamaha's Electronic Power Steering, Ultramatic Transmission and disc brakes at every wheel round out this awesome middleweight ATV, without breaking the bank.

Highlights
- Excellent Power-to-Weight Ratio
- Electric Power Steering
- Electronic Fuel Injection

Key Features:

Mid-Sized Fuel Injected Engine
At the heart of this bear lays a proven 558cc, fuel-injected, 4-stroke engine, making it one of the most powerful middleweight ATVs on the market. Fuel injection serves up crisp throttle response and adjusts automatically to match temperature and elevation changes.

Electronic Power Steering (EPS)
You've all heard of EPS over the last few years. But what does it mean for you as a rider? EPS does a few things, including dramatically reducing steering effort, even in 4WD, enhancing rider confidence and ease of operation. It also isolates the rider from external forces acting on the front wheels. This will enable you to worry less about the terrain so you can focus on enjoying the ride. Yamaha's EPS is also speed and torque sensitive, which means there is more assist at low speeds when you need it, and less assist at higher speeds to help optimize handling and stability.

Excellent Power to Weight Ratio
This bear packs less weight over its competition which gives it an added edge in the power-to-weight ratio category. Less weight translates into better handling, improved acceleration when climbing those steep hills and better traction during mud prowess.

Ultramatic Transmission
Revolutionary Ultramatic fully automatic transmission features true engine braking at each wheel while in 4WD. Dual-range with reverse and low range has approximately 1.5 times the pulling power of high range.

On-Command 4WD
Push-button servo-controlled On-Command system allows you to switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and fully locked differential 4WD - all with the simple push of a dash mounted button. Real 4-wheel drive when you need it. With Diff-lock engaged, you have traction to all 4 wheels immediately. This puts you in total control, you decide when you need 4 wheel drive - the machine doesn't decide for you.

4-Wheel Disc Brakes
Slowing your big-bore ATV down shouldn't involve standing on the brake pedal while squeezing the lever with all your might. 4-wheel disc brakes combined with full-time engine braking means slowing this Grizzly down requires less effort. And since the front and rear brakes can be operated independently, you have more control over how you brake depending on the situation.

Mass Centralization
The weight of a full tank of fuel can throw off your centre of gravity, so we located the tank under the seat and positioned the air box up high. This lowers the centre of gravity improving handling, stability and hill climbing capability. The raised air box also reduces the chance of water and debris from getting into the engine.

V-Belt Ducting
High mounted air box, V-belt intake and exhaust ducts, reduce the opportunity for water and debris to enter the V-Belt housing.

Reverse Mounted Rear Suspension
The wheel center does not change but allows for a shorter frame which improves approach/departure angles, and allows the use of stronger ball joints (more clearance).
