2013 Can-Am Outlander 800R Features and Benefits

Rotax 800R V-Twin engine
The 71-horsepower (15kW for EC homologated models), 80ยบ 799cc V-twin engine powering the Renegade 800R ATV continues its stronghold in the 800-class and is more than capable of holding its own against vehicles with larger displacement levels*. The liquid-cooled, single overhead cam power plant has four valves per cylinder and is fed by a 46mm throttle body and two VDO Siemens‡ fuel injectors for instantaneous throttle response. With an unprecedented power-to-weight ratio, gobs of torque, electronic fuel injection, and progressive throttle control the Rotax engine is powerful, efficient and smooth in any situation. And EFI means the 800R engine always operates at its peak, regardless of temperature or altitude.

Large Radiator
The large capacity radiator improves cooling for optimal engine performance for both work and play.

High-grade exhaust and silencer
The engine package includes an updated exhaust system and a durable end cap/cover contribute to the exhaust's upper-class appearance. The new system remains true to the Can-Am tradition of producing a throaty and impressive exhaust note, yet adheres to strict dB and emissions standards.

Dual-room air box
The Renegade 800R air box is placed at a higher and more centralised location for filtering and processing air. The no-tools air box features a dual-room design that improves the air filtration process and the quality of air by capturing dirty air in one portion of the box and clean air in another section before it sends the air to the engine. Along with the air box the air intake is also higher in the frame to improve the vehicle's capabilities in the mud and water. Accessing the filter for maintenance and inspection only requires the removal of the seat, console plastic and exterior push plate. The air filter is securely attached to the air box housing with a new screw-on system and push plate that work in tandem to create a tight seal.

Easy access for maintenance
The Renegade 800R ATV have a maintenance-friendly setup. The battery is beneath the seat to offer easier access and improved protection. The rear brake fluid reservoir, solenoid starter and relays were also placed conveniently under the seat.

CVT Transmission
For performance in wet conditions and terrain, the CVT system has a 13-bolt sealing system and an integrated drain plug that's easy to access if the need ever arises to remove water from the CVT housing. The CVT intake is positioned in a high location in the chassis for optimal performance in wet riding conditions. Automatic transmission with standard engine braking featuring high, low, park, neutral and reverse is also included.

Surrounding Spar Technology (SST) G2 Frame
The Renegade 800R uses the next generation and industry-exclusive Surrounding Spar Technology (SST) G2 chassis from BRP. The welded-steel SST G2 frame offers increased structural integrity, improved durability and precision handling. The SST G2 design offers also increases strength, provides a lower centre of gravity, improves handling and requires far less components, materials and welds than a traditional tube frame. The SST G2 frame also stronger torsional stiffness to more properly meets the high expectations of the end user for both work and play.

Visco-Lok front differential
The progressive auto-locking Visco-Lok‡ front differential is unique to the ATV industry. The innovative system constantly monitors front wheel speed and, if it detects one wheel spinning more quickly than the other, it progressively sends additional power to the wheel with better traction. Wheel hop or driveline wind-up is also eliminated to keep the system transparent to the operator. It's also a fully locking design, which means no need for either a rev or speed limiter. Visco-Lok QE (Quicker Engaging) is available on the Renegade X xc.

Double A-arm front suspension with dive-control geometry
The Renegade ATV retains its race-proven double A-arm setup and uses five-way preload HPG shocks. Front-end suspension travel is 9.3 inches (23.6 cm). Dive-control geometry tightly controls the roll-centre, especially when entering corners. The setup also inspires confidence, reducing kickback to the operator by locating the knuckle in the wheel.

Trailing Torsional Independent (TTI) rear suspension
The TTI, which offers up to 75% less moving parts than competitive systems, was designed to eliminate scrub and camber changes when the suspension moves up and down and keep the quad in straight line. Unique to BRP, the proven Torsional Trailing arm Independent (TTI) rear suspension offers increased rigidity and 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) of travel. A removable external sway bar and lower pivot points improve geometric squatting to improve traction and the transferring of power to the ground.

FOX HPG shocks
The Renegade 800R wears preload-adjustable high-pressure gas (HPG) shocks, front and rear, with a specific calibration to soak up both high- and low-speed bumps and keep the ride smooth.

12-inch (30.5 cm) cast-aluminium wheels
The Renegade 800R model has innovative computer-optimised wheels. A centre-less wheel design reduces unsprung weight but offers improved strength. Durability increased in strategic areas while excess material was eliminated in other areas to save weight.

25-inch (66cm) ITP Holeshot ATR tyres
This versatile tire provides proven, all-around trail performance and impressive traction.

214mm hydraulic disc brakes
The front setup uses two large 214mm disc brakes with twin-piston calipers for superior stopping power. At the rear, the models use two (one for EC homologated models), twin-piston caliper and 214mm hydraulic disc brakes. The system also includes separate front and rear hand brake levers for optimal control.

Lighting
For improved nighttimes clarity and visibility on the trail, the Renegade 800R ATV comes with 240 watts (4 x 60 w) of lighting power for the most in the industry. Four projector-type headlights bring unequalled styling and performance to the Renegade. The taillights offer a stylish design that blends in with the rear plastic and offers increased visibility for trail riding.

Fuel tank
The large fuel tank holds 5.4 US gallons (20.5 litres) of gas, so you can have more time to explore.

Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.TM)
D.E.S.S.™ is the ATV industry's lone factory-installed anti-theft device. The system utilises electronic key codes that are required to match each specific ATV's ECM. The machine will not start unless the coded microchip in the key matches the code pre-installed in the engine control module. Two keys are included with each model. The performance key allows the ATV to operate at maximum performance. The Normal key limits acceleration and top speed.

2013 Can-Am DS 450 Xmx Features and Benefits

Class-leading power-to-weight ratio of any 450-class sport ATV - The DS 450 features an innovative, no-weld ALTEC™ aluminum frame and a hearty Rotax® engine for the industry’s best power-to-weight ratio of any 450-class sport ATV. Combined those features with other weight-saving innovations (hollow rear axle, aluminum parts) and mass centralization engineering to reduce unsprung weight and the DS 450 is unmatched in its class.

EFI with 46-mm throttle body, 16-bit CPU with 32-MHz clock speed

5-speed manual transmission - Competition-ready 5-speed manual transmission with foot-shifter and manual clutch lever. Features heavy-duty clutch and 9 friction plates with DirectLink mechanism.

Electric start - Push-button electric start for easy start

45.3-hp Rotax 4-TEC 449cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine - The DS 450 is equipped with a 449 cc 4-stroke EFI Rotax engine, offers the largest bore (97 mm) and the largest intake valves (38 mm) from the DOHC 4-valve head with 97 x 60.8 mm bore and stroke. The EFI uses the largest throttle body (46 mm), 16-bit CPU with 32-MHz clock speed and an almost straight intake path. With a concept referred to as ''Durchzugskraft'' or flow dynamics optimization, the engine breathes easily and can produce more power. The DS 450 delivers the best power-to-weight ratio.

WIllwood hydraulic disc brakes - Mounted inside front rotors, the DS 450’s exclusive inverted dual-piston calipers allow for a unique knuckle / spindle / A-arm design. Computer-designed, wave-type front-and-rear rotors offer exceptional cooling and enhance all-around Precision-engineered handling.

R-Type cast aluminum swingarm rear suspension - Features Chromoly hollow rear axle, extended-reach aluminum wheel hubs, aluminum sprocket, cast-aluminum swingarm. For the lowest possible unsprung weight and the most mass centralization.

No weld, ALTEC twin pyramidal aluminum frame - A maximum strength, no-weld, all-aluminum frame that uses a twin pyramidal structure. Major components are firmly secured with aluminum fasteners called lock-bolts. The frame is stronger yet much lighter than a traditional ladder frame.

Hollow rear axle - The hollow, high-strenght steel axle has been shortened by extending the lenght of aluminum hubs. The final design: a shorter axle mated with "spyder" all-aluminum hubs with precision machined splines and longer arms. The rear unsprung weight of the DS 450 is therefore reduced, which also has a significant impact on mass centralization and dry weight.

Detachable headlights - Remove the headlights for racing.

Race-inspired radiator grill - Race-inspired radiator grill (MC)

31.5-in. (800 mm) seat height - Low seat height provides a lower center of gravity and race-ready positioning for aggressive riding.

Racing kick-up foot pegs with heel guards - Wide foot pegs with kick ups and integrated heel guards offer riders superb footing and protection.

18x10-8 ITP QuadCross MX PRO rear tires - High-Industry-leading performance ITP QuadCross MX Pro tires give maximized traction on track surfaces, especially for blue-grooved. The rear tires are 18-inch motocross-ready tires complete with 8-inch (203 mm) black, aluminum ITP T-9 beadlock wheels with an inner reinforcement ring.

Adjustable-width hollow rear axle from 46 in. [1.17 m] to 50 in. [1.27 m] by increments of 0.5 in. [12.7 mm] per spacer - Many of top motocross pros are choosing to race with a rear width that is slightly narrower than the front-end width. This is possible with the DS 450 X mx Chromoly 4140 adjustable-width hollow axle. Adjustment from 46 (1,168 mm) to 50 inches (1,270 mm) is possible with 0.5-inch (13 mm) spacers.

Black aluminum ITP 10x5 T-9 GP front wheels

7-in. (179 mm) factory-set ride height (175-lb rider) - Straight from the factory, the DS 450 X mx is prepped with a ride height of seven inches (178 mm). This height, along with the ATV being “dialed in” for a 175-pound rider (with gear), gives the DS 450 X mx a lower center of gravity and allows you to rail through the corners with confidence.

Aluminum 6061-T6 taper-profile handlebar with square pad

NEW X -package coloration, graphics and seat cover - Graphics and seat cover exclusive to the X package.

20x6-10 ITP QuadCross MX PRO front tires - High-Industry-leading performance ITP QuadCross MX Pro tires give maximized traction on track surfaces, especially for blue-grooved. Up front, 20-inch (508 mm) ITP QuadCross MX Pro tires mounted on 10-inch (254 mm) black, aluminum ITP T-9 wheels

Double A-arms with adjustable caster - + 2-inch double A-arms with adjustable caster and camber give a 50-inch front stance

Extra-strength extended 1-in. (25.4 mm) steering stem with anti-vibe mounts - A +1-inch (25 mm) extra-strength steering stem with anti-vibe mounts comes standard on the DS 450 X xc and the DS 450 X mx. This gives the racer a better feel for the ATV while in an attacking stance out on the course. There is no need to buy an aftermarket stem to be competitive. Mounted to the steering stem is an aluminum 6061-T6 taper-profile handlebar with square racing pad.

FOX8 FLOAT8 X EVOL8 front shocks - FOX FLOAT X EVOL front shocks with dual-speed compression and infinitely adjustable air spring and 10.7 inch (272 mm) of travel.

Lightweight aluminum nerf bars with netted heel guards - Straight from the factory, the DS 450 X mx comes complete with lightweight aluminum nerf bars with netted heel guards. If one desires, the nerf bars, side extensions and heel guards can be removed with ease.

Black aluminum ITP 8x8 T-9 Trac-lock rear wheels

Aluminum front bumper, number plate ready

FOX PODIUM8 X Remote rear shock - FOX PODIUM X Remote rear shock with dual speed compression, rebound and preload adjustments and 11.1 inch (282 mm) of travel

2013 Can-Am Outlander 650 Key Features

INDUSTRY-LEADING PERFORMANCE

Highlights : Outlander 800r / 650 / 500
Rotax® V-Twin engine options
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with engine braking
Surrounding Spar Technology (SST G2) frame with Geometric Contact Control
Double A-arm front suspension with dive-control geometry

2013 Can-Am Outlander 650 Features and Benefits

Industry-leading performance

Large 5.4-gal (20.5 L) fuel tank
25 percent more fuel capacity, which means you can ride longer. Total capacity is 5.4 gallons (20.5 L).

Large radiator with increased cooling capacity
The larger, more efficient radiator offers almost double the cooling capacity and keeps the engine running cool for optimal Industry-leading performance. The radiator capacity grew by 14 kW with the engineering updates.

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with engine braking
For ease of use, you can count on the CVT transmission that features engine braking to help slow you when going downhill.

Redesigned air box
The new air box was reconfigured and placed at a higher and more centralized location for filtering and processing air. The no-tools air box features a dual-room design that improves the air filtration process and the quality of air by capturing dirty air in one portion of the box and clean air in another section before it sends the air to the engine. Along with the relocated air box the air intake is also higher in the frame to improve the machine's capabilities in the mud and water.

Rotax® V-Twin engine options
Available in a 46-hp Rotax 500, 62-hp Rotax 650 or 71-hp Rotax 800R liquid-cooled V-Twin engines with four valves per cylinder and overhead camshafts. With twin fuel injectors that supply efficient fuel delivery into the combustion chamber for powerful, yet precise performance.

Precision-engineered handling
Surrounding Spar Technology (SST G2) frame with Geometric Contact Control
The next generation and industry-exclusive Surrounding Spar Technology (SST G2) frame. The welded-steel frame incorporates new processes and updated geometry for increased structural integrity, improved durability and precision Precision-engineered handling. The more efficient SST G2 design offers increased strength compared to a traditional tubular steel chassis, a lower center of gravity, better Precision-engineered handling and requires far fewer components, materials and welds.

Double A-arm with dive-control geometry
Includes dive-control geometry for better cornering and vehicle-braking dynamics and anti-kickback geometry for better steering feel. The 9 inches of suspension travel increase trail comfort and aggressive riding capability.

214-mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers
The front and rear setup use large 214-mm disc brakes with twin-piston calipers for superior stopping power.
Visco-Lok† auto-locking 4x4 front differential
The Visco-Lok† 4 x 4 system constantly monitors front wheel speed and, if it detects one wheel spinning faster than the other, it progressively sends more power to the wheel with the better traction. And it does it all without the rider having to lift a finger.

26-in. Carlisle Badland tires
Mated to the steel black wheels are rugged 26-in. (66cm) Carlisle Badland tires that offer superior Industry-leading performance in a variety of conditions and terrain.

Torsional Trailing arm Independent (TTI) rear suspension
The only independent rear suspension that eliminates scrub and camber changes, meaning the wheels pivot up and down rather than in a butterfly motion like competitors' systems. This ensures the vehicle only moves in the direction you point it. With fewer moving parts than competitive systems. The proven Torsional Trailing arm Independent (TTI) rear suspension has been reconfigured to offer increased rigidity and improved suspension travel. The updates lead to lower pivot points providing geometric squatting for improved traction and the transfer of power to the ground.
Rider-focused design

1,300-lb (590 kg) towing capacity
The Outlander offers a sizeable, 1,300-pound towing capacity and a new 2-in. receiver hitch as standard equipment.

Easy access for maintenance
Can-Am engineers succeeded at producing a more maintenance-friendly setup. The battery was relocated beneath the seat to offer easier access and improved protection. The rear brake fluid reservoir, solenoid starter and relays were also placed under the seat.

Multi-function racks with LinQ quick-attach accessory system
The Outlander ATVs have redesigned cargo racks offering more convenience, greater durability, improved versatility and industry-leading cargo hauling prowess. High-strength, reinforced composite racks replace the tubular steel setup. The innovative racks feature an integrated anti-skid surface and elevated ridges for improved cargo holding. Numerous edges and holes improve use with tie-downs and bungee cords. Additional predetermined "cutouts" were also added for use with Can-Am's exclusive LinQ accessory system, which is adaptable and customizable for various uses and products. LinQ accessories are already available from Can-Am dealers. Combined rack capacity is 300-lb (100-lb front / 200-lb rear).

5.7-gal (21.4L) water-resistant rear storage box
A huge 5.7-gallon (21.4L) rear storage box offers industry-leading cargo capacity and is located beneath the rear cargo rack. The more convenient location means riders can access the water-resistant, sealed storage box even when the rear cargo rack is loaded.

230-W headlights. The most lightning output of any ATV in the industry
Restyled headlights project Can-Am heritage and also offer enhanced visibility for trail riding. On high beam, the twin 60-W projectors and dual 55-W reflectors give the Outlander 230 -W of visual clarity.

Multi-function digital gauge
Tells the rider everything in one easy glance. Our easy-to-read multi-function gauge is equipped with a digital information center including a speedometer, tachometer (bar graph RPM, bottom bar numerical), odometer, trip meter, gear position, hour meter, engine hour meter, temperature and engine lights, fuel gauge and a clock function.

Center skid plate
The high-strength skid plate is made from proven materials and is designed for supreme protection and has the ability to slide over certain obstacles. Made of 5-mm thick injection-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

Dual taillights
The Outlander taillights offer a stylish design and increased visibility for trail riding.

Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.™)
Outlander models feature the exclusive D.E.S.S.™ anti-theft system. The ATV will not start unless a coded microchip in the key matches a code embedded in the engine control module. It means only you can start your vehicle.

2013 Suzuki KingQuad 400FSi Camo Review

Three decades ago, Suzuki literally invented the 4-wheel ATV. The original Suzuki LT-125 established Suzuki as the First on 4-Wheels. With the 30th anniversary of that breakthrough, the Suzuki KingQuad 400 lineup carries on the tradition of performance that rules. The KingQuad 400FSi offers an unrivaled combination of exciting sport performance and hard-working capabilities. So whether you're tacking a tough job or a tough trail, you'll appreciate its impressive torque and remarkably wide power band. It also lets you select two- or four-wheel drive operation quickly and conveniently, which gives it the versatility to handle rough conditions, daunting chores - or let you enjoy a backwoods getaway. Its aggressive styling also reflects its willingness to take on tough jobs. The KingQuad 400FSi 4x4 Semi-Automatic specializes in versatility. With its five-speed transmission and automatic clutch, it combines sporty performance and convenient operation. Since it's a KingQuad, you're in for an incredible combination of gutsy performance and lightweight agility.

2013 Suzuki KingQuad 400FSi Camo Features and Benefits

Engine Features

The KingQuad 400FSi Camo features a fuel-injected 376cc four-stroke, four-valve engine with new cam profiles and inner structures of the muffler (for more powerful and efficient performance).

Suzuki's class-leading fuel injection contributes to smooth power output, especially, in the mid-to-high range, as well as more consistent cold starts. The fuel injection system uses 3-D ignition maps for optimum ignition, targeting a responsive yet environmentally efficient performance.

Suzuki Advanced Cooling System (SACS) with factory-installed oil cooler and thermostat-controlled cooling fan helps cool engine during hard work or under excessive load.

The KingQuad 400FSi Camo comes with electric start. A start-in-gear system—functional when the rear brake is applied—allows starting the engine without shifting to neutral when conditions warrant.

Transmission Features

A five-speed transmission with semi-automatic clutch with reverse allows the rider to select their gear position for maximum traction and fuel efficiency.

You can select two- or four-wheel drive operation with the flip of a handlebar-mounted lever. The KingQuad 400FSi Camo shaft drive system is reliable and durable, and provides nearly maintenance-free operation.

A torque-sensing limited-slip front differential provides maximum traction and light steering effort when in 4WD mode.

High-low selectable sub-transmission helps provide maximum versatility over a variety of terrain. An automotive gate-type gearshift lever lets you conveniently choose high- or low-range, neutral or reverse.

Chassis Features

Suzuki's innovative and exclusive T-shaped seat provides maximum rider mobility during sport riding and while tackling difficult terrain.

Overall length is under 82 inches so KingQuad 400FSi Camo 4x4 fits into a 6.5-foot truck bed.

Independent front A-arm suspension design offers smooth performance and remarkable ground clearance and allows 6.7 inches of wheel travel.

A swingarm rear-suspension system with 6.7 inches of wheel travel and class-exclusive twin shock absorbers provides agile handling and plush responsiveness.

Dual front hydraulic disc brakes feature calipers with a large 34mm piston diameter and maximum brake-pad surface area for increased stopping power and outstanding durability.

Large, 25-inch Maxxis tires with aggressive dual-stage treaded pattern offers consistent traction in wet conditions and a quiet, smooth ride on hard-packed trails.

Lightweight and strong plastic skid plates, sturdy enough to withstand pounding of trail hazards yet slippery to help let obstacles slide below.

Utility/Convenience Features

Wrinkle paint finish on the racks and front bumper are durable and scratch resistance. Heavy-duty front and rear carrying racks let you easily take advantage of superb cargo-carrying capabilities.

LCD digital Instrumentation includes speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, hour meter, clock, fuel gauge and indicator lams for reverse gear, neutral, oil and FI.

Automotive-style DC power outlet on front fender. A winch-ready chassis and factory-installed flexible tube routing for wiring make winch installation simple.

Large 4.2-gallon fuel tank with fuel gauge for outstanding riding range.

Full floorboards with integrated raised footpegs provide protection.

Water-resistant underseat rear storage compartment.
