2013 Honda TRX250X Review

Aggressive, race-inspired styling gives the fun-to-ride midsized TRX250X a distinctly sporty look. Yet thanks to its torquey powerplant and Honda's innovative and easy-to-use SportClutch™ along with other great features, this versatile machine remains a favorite among beginners as well as longtime riders. For added sport performance along with an aggressive stance, the TRX250X comes factory-equipped with Maxxis Razr Vantage tires.

What kind of rider is the right kind of rider when it comes to a TRX250X? Just about anyone 16 or older. That’s because the TRX250X is perfectly suited for new riders, experienced riders, back wood trails and hot desert sands.

It all starts with an OHC, air-cooled, longitudinally mounted engine that produces Honda’s famous mix of smooth, efficient power and loads of torque right when you need it. From there, we added our exclusive SportClutch™ that lets you manually shift for yourself, while also minimizing the potential of stalling for new riders. A shaft final drive designed to provide years of maintenance-free fun. Independent front suspension for improved control over varying conditions. And loads of that Honda reliability people love.

2013 Honda TRX250X Features and Benefits

Independent Front Suspension - Independent double-wishbone front suspension provides an exceptional 5.9 inches of travel and a smooth ride over challenging terrain.

Lightweight Aluminum Wheels - Lightweight aluminum wheels reduce unsprung weight for superior handling.

Rubber-Mounted Engine - Rubber-mounted engine reduces vibration. This makes parts last longer, and lets you ride longer without feeling as tired.

Shaft Final Drive - Honda’s fully sealed rear driveshaft is super-strong and virtually maintenance free. The driveshafts sit inline with the engine’s crankshaft.

Rugged, Reliable 229cc OHV Engine - Lightweight OHV air-cooled 229cc engine is longitudinally mounted, allowing direct driveshaft alignment to rear wheels for more efficient power transfer. Two-valve cylinder-head design features performance-optimized valve timing, a 31.5mm-diameter intake valve and a 27mm-diameter exhaust valve to produce a broad, usable powerband.

Reverse - Easy to use reverse for unloading or getting out of tight spots.

Keyed Ignition - Keyed ignition switch for added security. The switch also lets you control who goes riding and when.

Exclusive Honda SportClutch™ - Handlebar-mounted Honda SportClutch enables the rider to experience manual clutch actuation with the advantage of no stalling when coming to a stop. Revolutionary feature allows beginning or novice riders to learn clutch engagement points, while experienced riders enjoy the full performance of a conventional manual clutch.

Lightweight Aluminum Wheels - Lightweight aluminum wheels reduce unsprung weight for superior handling.

Electric Starter - Effortless electric starter makes getting the engine started easy, even when the engine is cold or you’ve been riding all day.

Important Safety Information - Recommended for riders 16 years of age and older. Honda recommends that all ATV riders take a training course and read their owner's manual thoroughly.

Longitudinal Engine Layout - We mount our ATV engines front to back to align the drive shaft straight to the rear wheels. The result is a smooth, efficient delivery of power.

Forget About Stalling - Our innovative SportClutch™ allows new riders to learn the clutch without worrying about stalling, while also giving experienced riders the freedom to shift as they normally would.
