KTM engineers have packed innovative technology into this compact, lightweight racing powerhouse. The electric starter sets in motion the ultra-powerful DOHC engine, designed to give the best motocross riders from beginners to professionals an advantage. With a 5-gear transmission designed specifically for SX use and optimal power delivery throughout the powerband, the 450 SX roosts the competition. It is the ideal secret weapon for hard wheel-to-wheel racing and won’t disappoint you when the pressure is on.
HIGH-PERFORMING CYLINDER HEAD
Two overhead camshafts and DLC-coated rocker arms drive the four ultra-light titanium valves to the highest levels of performance. What results, is smooth, unbeatable power from the bottom end of the power range to the rev limiter. The 450 SX engine produces phenomenal performance thanks to state of the art components and technology.
SPECIALLY ENGINEERED CRANK DRIVE
Due to specially engineered crankshaft and flywheel both SX engines guarantee enormous acceleration and power from the bottom of the range up. The two lightweight balancing shafts provide smooth engine character for less rider fatigue over long motos.
RELIABLE VALVE DRIVE
The crankshaft is connected via a sprocket to a short control chain that drives the two camshafts. Here, a self-adjusting hydraulic chain tensioner ensures reliable valve control right up into the highest speed ranges.
